As Managing Director and Medical Director, Ms. Machutt leads a team of medical underwriters in conducting research-based, critical medical case review to bring accuracy and validity to life expectancy prediction tools, while identifying competitive opportunities for the firm’s core business and success. Prior to joining Preston Ventures, Ms. Machutt served as a Medical Director in the Individual Life Insurance division at Prudential Insurance Company for over 5 years. There, using medical knowledge, clinical experience, and mortality data, she provided consultative services to assist the medical underwriter in the assessment of overall medical risk related to life insurance applicants. Ms. Machutt is an active member of AAIM (American Academy of Insurance Medicine) and was featured as a cardiovascular work-shop instructor at the 2022 Triennial Board preparation meeting. She has authored multiple articles specific to Life Underwriting and cardiovascular risk assessment. Ms. Machutt is an ANCC board-certified adult nurse practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and clinical training completed at Mayo Medical Center, Rochester, MN. Her clinical practice experience as a nurse practitioner includes over 17 years within multiple areas of cardiology and geriatrics specialties, including advanced heart failure, transplant, and cognitively impaired geriatrics.
